Carpets pile can be woven in three types

  • Cut Pile
  • Loop Pile
  • Combination of loop pile and cut pile

Cut Pile
The loops of a pile are cut from the top in cut pile. The highly twisted yarns of cut pile hold their shape for a longer period and are selected for rooms where the carpet is used more frequently.

Common types of cut pile are:
Textured cut pile
Textured cut pile are more decorative and versatile. They tend to hide footprints. The textured carpets also hide vacuum marks making them look good even between vacuuming. The textured cut pile carpets are preferred in rooms where the traffic is quite high.

Saxony cut pile
Saxony cut pile have a refined surface and add to the beauty of the room. They have a luxuriously smooth finish and are great with traditional decor. The saxony cut pile carpets display subtle highlights and accents.

Berber cut-pile
Berber cut pile give a plush feel and look to the carpet. The Gerber cut pile carpets add a decorative look to any room.

Frieze cut pile
The frieze cut pile are extremely twisted and this tends to give a curly textured surface.

Loop Pile
In case of loop pile carpets the pile is not cut and the loops are left as they are when woven. The loops can be even in height as in the case of a regular loop pile or they can be un-even. In case of un-even loops or a multi-level loop, alternate loops are of the same height. In some cases, the height of the loops may vary at three levels. This helps in giving a better durability, a pattern effect and a more casual look to the carpet.

Cut-loop pile
This is a combination of the cut pile and the loop pile. This combination creates a variety of textures and designs. The multicolored effects helps in hiding the stains on the carpet.
